Nier and Nier Automata definitely have two of the best OSTs i have ever heard.....actually even Drakengard 3 has some great tracks, but imo the overall work is not at the same level. I haven't played first Nier but checked the story and ofc listen OST. While Automata's OST execution is great in the game, i feel i don't enjoy hearing it really much outside the game.
Despair and Emil's Shop themes are simply rearranged versions (same as Grandma, Dark Colossus, etc.). There are some songs I prefer in that and some I prefer in Automata.
