I want this to be a place to post builds for different playstyles, a place to receive critique on builds and help making them, and a place just to talk ideas out. The armor rating only reduces physical damage, not magical damage. 1.
If you are playing legendary and you fight a random bandit lord or whatever - wielding a two handed mace, he/she will pretty much one shot you if you have only 567 armor. Go magic immunity and face a Legendary Dragon. When worn, armor increases a character's armor rating and thus helps to reduce the overall damage inflicted from physical attacks. Builds found here are specified by archetype and playstyle by their original author so you can refine your search and find the perfect Skyrim character for you.

Now, granted, finding a mob in the game that is specced 3 ranks in mace is pretty rare, but trust me... you will find them -- the Ebony Warrior is one such mob... fighting him on legendary with 567 armor and he will chew you up if you try to stand toe to toe with him, because he is ignoring 75% of your armor!

It just happens. Briarhearts are one shining example... most often they are using axes, but the rare briarheart will be using a mace and have the perk - suddenly you are dead and wondering "What was that?" You become invincible to magic by using 100% magic absorb, not magic resist, it makes you invincible to disease as well.
