I thought the story was good, the combat was a bit iffy at times but it never bothered me because this game excelled in its story, and the aesthetic for the game was spot on.

Reid, a high-ranking military surgeon transformed into a vampire upon his return home from the frontline. But definitely worth a peek.What can I say, this has to be the worst game I've ever played in my life. I must be 10-15 hours into the game, and I can't believe it only has a 70 on Metacritic (PS4). No long loadings. Unless it gets really bad moving forward, I don't see how it's not at least an 8.5 game. Plagued by performance/optimization issues. The game's full map is kinda small and having fast travel would have made the game a 15 hour game vs a 25 hour game. Very few bugs in my playthrough.
Soundtrack not bad. Vampyr delivers a compelling, challenging, even disturbing action RPG experience, with a perfect setting for these kinds of stories. This is a fantastic game so far. XboxOne
Reports Is this travesty worth $60? I'm only thankful I spent just $15 on this as I got it discounted on GOG.

One thing I still don’t understand is what is the reasoning behind the amount of XP you get from certain victims? Vampyr is set in early 20th century Britain as the country is gripped by the lethal Spanish flu and the streets of London are crippled by disease, violence and fear. Vampyr compromises its themes that emphasize the value of life by shackling itself to traditional, tedious game design that finds the good Dr. Reid slicing through hordes of faceless folks in hopes of upgrading his hacksaw. I also wasn't sure about the no fast travel in an open world setting.
Also indy games score lower than aaaThe story does become a little 'hit or miss' near the end and the console releases were (are?) Vampyr is both amazing and irritating.
And some relationships seemed to develop out of thin air, which happens in Vampyr also (no spoilers I promise).For a game entirely centered around dialogue and conversations, people are frightfully wooden in the animation department, and it doesn't help the unnatural feeling when all of them start to pile exposition on me like I'm filming a documentary.I still want to love Vampyr, but it kind of slid off me when I first played it.I liked they game very much(even tho I waited till they dropped hardcore mode before playing it) But I think you could improve some things The combat feels pretty easy and repetitive after a while And I never felt like merchants sell anything useful at all and had like 4000 gold left in the end without even doing everything and never selling stuff But I very much appreciated the way they take time to get you familiar with the characters and the world, felt pretty atmospheric for meYeah, I found if you go with 2 hand weapon, most of the loot and even money is useless to collect.
But I wouldn't pay more than $25 for it if I could. for 50€.
There’s a fair bit of expectation around Vampyr, the next title by Life Is Strange creators DONTNOD. Critics are absolutely insane people. I’m currently trying to do the more difficult setting.
