This is the best intro to Bayesian Statistics. In retrospect I cannot believe this was such a random sequence of events, since the "Student's Guide' has now become my personal favourite text book I ever had. I would say avoid the paperback of this book - it's cheap for a reason. The first statistics book I have ever managed to read (v. nearly) cover to cover.
The organisation of the book is praiseworthy: whether you are a novice or an advanced Bayesian, the book helps you navigate its content according to your prior knowledge.
